Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, a veritable power couple of the tennis world, represent a union that has captivated fans for decades. For Agassi, it was an immediate and profound attraction. He openly admitted to a long-held admiration, recalling the moment he first saw Graf during a French television interview. In his memoir, Open, he described being “thunderstruck” and “dazzled” by her quiet elegance and natural beauty. Agassi, a seasoned player with a career spanning nearly two decades and boasting 60 titles, considered Graf, who had amassed a similar impressive record, the “hardest to win.” Even now, years later, he continues to publicly celebrate his wife, a testament to their enduring love story.
Once during an interview with Forbes India, Andre Agassi, who was previously married to renowned actress Brook Shields, admitted that “the highest point of his life,” was when Steffi Graf accepted his marriage proposal. How difficult was it for Agassi to make this proposal, though? Well, after developing a crush on the German, Agassi figured out that there was a “fifty-fifty shot” that Graf was the one for him. At that time, he had already made, “one bad call,” (he got divorced from Sheilds in 1999), so he thought maybe his chances could be higher. “But sometimes the universe whispers, sometimes it screams,” as Agassi put it in an interview with The Cut.
He heard those calls, and finally, after several “borderline stalkings“, he started dating her in 1999 and got married in 2001. They now have two children. The couple welcomed the first of their two children, a son, Jaden Gil Agassi, in October 2001 and then almost two years later Graf gave birth to their daughter, Jaz Elle Agassi. Well, apart from their love for the sport, the tennis couple is also known for their love and soft corners for their pets. In February 2016, Andre Agassi introduced his beloved dog, Blue, to the world through a social media post, and from that moment on, images of their affectionate bond became a regular sight. Tragically, Blue passed away in 2024.

Sweetie had arrived at their home as a stray, appearing in their backyard. One and half years later, Andre Agassi shared a picture of Steffi Graf and their pet cat on his IG account with the caption, “A beauty and a stud = my loves ❤️ @stefaniegrafhq.” Although Agassi claims that he himself was always outgoing and Graf was the “complete opposite“, he now believes, “She was everything I hoped to experience and aspire to be.“

Talking about Agassi never being shy of showing love for his wife, last year during the AO, he was spotted kissing his wife’s portrait of holding the 1994 AO title. Talking about that moment, Andre Agassi said, “I mean she has to accept a kiss right, I mean she can deny it maybe at home. I mean you walk around and you just get hit with your wife. You know you’re other side of the globe and you feel so close at times.”

Well, in 2011, during an interview with FurSie, Graf said, “I loved being a tennis player, but I only found myself as a wife and mother. Of course, I would rather have the physique of 20-year-old Steffi. I mean especially the invisible signs of aging: my joints, for example. That’s why yoga wouldn’t be for me.” If not yoga, then how does she manage to keep her active lifestyle intact?
Well, in reply to that she said that she has somehow found time to work out daily, even if her exercise just involved chasing after their family pets. In that same interview, she added, “Thank God I never had any weight problems. I have always eaten very consciously. And my two children also chop vegetables with passion.“
Ever since giving birth to their children, Andre Agassi and his wife admitted that Jaden and Jaz always keep them on their toes. Just a few weeks ago, we even saw the couple taking part in the Pickleball Slam 3! According to Graf their family is a very active household, “I’m a pretty active person, and we’re a pretty active family, so all it comes naturally to be active! We’ll go from snowboarding to a little basketball here and there, so it’s a busy life, but a lot of fun.”
