Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter did it yet again! They have won titles in the same week for the second time this year. Earlier this year, the Australian tennis star won the Mexican Open in Acapulco, while a few moments later, Boulter won the title in San Diego. Now, Alex de Minaur clinched the title in ‘s-Hertogenbosch a few hours before his girlfriend successfully defended her crown at the Nottingham Open.

Last time, de Minaur rushed to catch a flight after his victory to watch Katie Boulter live from the stadium. However, he couldn’t make it this time. It was followed by a hilarious exchange between the couple, where Boulter warned, “we’ve got some talking to do.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Alex de Minaur praised his girlfriend for making a valiant effort in Nottingham. He then went on to defend himself against the taunts of his girlfriend, stating he tried his best to catch the flight in time. Elaborating on that, he added, “She’s given me a little bit of slack. I think she kind of understands that you know maybe I was a little bit on a time constraint, I did my very best.

Shortly after she lifted her title, Boulter said, “My boyfriend didn’t make the trip even though I thought he might after his win in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. We will have to be talking about that tonight and see if we’re gonna still be together. I hope he’s listening to this because we’ve got some talking to do,” during her on-court interview.

The duo were then caught in a hilarious tussle for stealing each other’s limelight with their emphatic triumphs. And now, Alex de Minaur has a reply for Katie Boulter’s taunt for him in missing out on her moment on Sunday.

Minaur further went on to highlight their incredible achievement on Super Sunday. He said, It was an unbelievable week for both of us and yeah I can’t believe it’s the second time it has happened this year.

With this incredible result, Alex de Minaur has now moved up to the number 7 spot in the men’s singles ranking, while Katie Boulter (31) is on the verge of making it to the top 30 in the WTA. The Aussie hailed hailed his Briton partner as a “complete warrior” during that same interview.

Katie Boulter fought for each point as she came back from a set down to defeat the former world number one, Karolina Pliskova by 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the Nottingham Open finals, to win her second title of this season. Playing two consecutive three-setters in such a short span and winning both made her boyfriend speechless!
