After a long wait, the world’s 5th-ranked tennis player won his 10th ATP title in Los Cabos.In a press conference shortly after defeating Alex de Minaur to win the title, he was questioned about his long-term objectives. While he’s ready to step into the US Open with a great tennis season in the background, he shared his recent goal of just doing better than his 25-year-old girlfriend.

He revealed, “My goal is to surpass Paula’s best ranking, which is world number two, and to get better than that.” Although they both have constantly supported each other on the tennis court, taking your loved one as an inspiration is a huge challenge in itself.

But as he’s halfway through that journey by standing in the fifth position, the US Open victory can help him ride up to the top smoothly and take over Badosa’s best ranking on the tennis circuit to date. Nevertheless, the Greek tennis player is quite aware of the fact that he just has to climb the first ladder of success, and then all he has to do is continue.
