Lionel Messi‘s signing for the MLS club Inter Miami has completely changed the dynamic of the sport in America. His free-kick winning goal on his debut took everyone by surprise, including some of the biggest names in the country. The likes of Serena Williams, LeBron James, Kim Kardashian, and Alexis Ohanian were all seated for the GOAT’s debut. And Messi did not disappoint.

As America is still on the high of Messi’s heroics, a certain Twitter user took their humor to a different scale. The humor directly involved Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian, who could not resist laughing at the sarcasm.

When Messi shook America, plenty of experts took to Twitter to express their admiration for the Argentine soccer legend. A podcast show host tweeted, “Let me tell you a story about a man who changed a sport for an entire continent in one night….“. The picture included Messi tying his laces while the big stars in the stands tried to capture a picture of him. One user zoomed in on Ohanian and asked if the Reddit co-founder was the man in question.

Taking the banter in the friendliest way possible, Ohanian played along with the Twitter users. He replied back saying, “y’all play too much” with a laughing emoticon.

It was one of the most iconic frames in the history of sports. The amount of star power generated from that picture would be hard to replicate again.

One frame, three GOATs

Lionel Messi had just entered the pitch as a second-half substitute moments before the picture was captured. He went down on his knee to tie his laces near the box that included all the stars. While Messi was at it, Serena, LeBron and others took this as an opportunity to capture Messi. The picture resurfaced on social media and the fans rejoiced over it.

There were quite a few other big names in the frame, including NBA star Tristan Thompson, but all eyes were on the three GOATs. LeBron James, Serena Williams and Lionel Messi within the same frame will go down as a moment in history for sports fans.
