In 2023, Roddick shared a heap of praise for America’s rising star in tennis Jessica Pegula. Roddick said- “You know, women have won a slam and then the search for consistency starts. Like Rybakina broke out at Wimbledon, we knew the upside, but then she figured out how to be consistent throughout. Iga Swiatek broke out at Roland Garros a couple years ago and then found the consistency afterwards, but Pegula had a consistency going into the Canadian Open,”
Not just that but Roddick shared a big hope for Pegula’s future in tennis. He said- “What was missing is the big titles like the Masters 1000s, and now we have to seriously discuss her chances at a major. Can she get past that quarterfinal, kind of a jinx round, into the semis, into the finals?”
