Nick Kyrgios Fires Warning to LeBron James and Tom Brady After Becoming a Team Owner Alongside Naomi Osaka

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has fired a warning to the other star investors in the Major League Pickleball. Kyrgios and four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka are the latest co-owners at a franchise in MLP. As the sport increases its popularity in the US, many big names made their investment in the league. While Osaka and Kyrgios are new entrants, there are some big sports stars like Kevin Durant LeBron James, and Tom Brady in the group of investors.

Both Osaka and Kyrgios are joint owners of the new franchise from Miami. As the Miami franchise picked their first few draft picks, Kyrgios fired a warning to the other athlete co-owners of the league. Here’s what happened.

With Nick Kyrgios and Naomi Osaka as co-owners, the Miami Pickleball club debuts this year. With all the excitement, the Australian tennis star revealed the first few draft picks for the newly formed team. Apart from revealing the names, the 27-year-old had a subtle warning for the other team’s co-owners, like LeBron James, Tom Brady, and Kevin Durant. Taking to his Instagram account, Kyrgios shared the names and wrote,

“Introducing the @miamipc Big welcome to our draft picks @alixtruong. pb @reginaf_goldberg @mattmanasse. We are coming for you @kingjames @easymoneysniper @tombrady.”

With the rising popularity and some big names already making their investment in the sport, its future looks bright. It will be interesting to see if we are going to see some more tennis stars making their investment in pickleball.

A few former tennis stars are not happy with Pickleball’s popularity

With an uncanny resemblance to tennis, pickle seems to be gaining rapid popularity. Pickleball is a cross between tennis and table tennis. While it is lighter on the players in regards of intensity, even the fans like it. Although it is a separate sport with a different fan base, a few senior tennis stars believe it might take over tennis.

One of them is the 18-time Grand Slam champion, Martina Navratilova. The 65-year-old took to her Twitter account to tell that she has tried the sport and still prefers tennis over it. Further, the legend said that pickleball should have separate courts to keep it away from tennis.

With the top tennis legends like Navratilova looking worried about rapidly rising popularity, it will be interesting to see if pickleball becomes more popular than tennis in the coming days.
