Kyrgios has come close to winning many tournaments in the singles tour. He played against Djokovic in the 2022 Wimbledon final and gained fantastic momentum after winning the first set. But Djokovic shifted gears and took victory from Kyrgios’ hands. Now, he has been absent from the ATP Tour due to injuries, and his return is not clear.

Jimmy Connors, a legend of the sport, recently talked about Kyrgios’ concerning attitude toward the sport in his podcast. “If you’re going to be the best, you see Djokovic. I mean, you know, nothing gets in his way. He doesn’t want to play basketball, he doesn’t want to, he concentrates and focuses really just on is tennis and winning.

Connors further said, “And if you’re going to be the best, I would think, you know, I guess there’s some guys that are different, that you don’t just have to put everything into that. And maybe some guys are different. Maybe Kyrgios is one of those guys. But putting all your energies into being the best is important.”

Connors talked about basketball because Kyrgios is often seen playing the sport. He has proclaimed it as his first love and recently shared how his NBA dream crashed in favor of tennis.
