There’s less than two weeks before Wimbledon 2024 begins, and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is already the favorite to win. It’s not surprising as the 21-year-old won the French Open and is free of forehand injury, making him even more dangerous than before. However, the World No. 2 has his sight set on another front as he begins his defense at the Queen’s Club The Euro Cup 2024!

In a recent press conference, Alacarz narrated his dilemma. The Spaniard had a match against the British player, Jack Draper, on Thursday. This couldn’t be more unfortunate as Spain would be battling Italy at the Euro Cup. Consequently, the 3-time Grand Slam champion was all set to request Queen’s Club to move the match to support his nation at the quadrennial event.

Lo-and-behold, the tournament granted the request of the young Spanish sensation. Journalist José Morgado shared an updated schedule on his X handle, with Alcaraz’s request. He captioned his post, “Alcaraz vs. Draper is the 2nd match on centre tomorrow at the Queen’s Club. Carlitos has time to watch the Spain vs. Italy Euro’2024 game!”

Alcaraz can now breathe a sigh of relief as he is all set to enjoy both the event, Spain Vs Italy at the Euro Cup. His match against Draper at the Queen’s Court will come after the Spaniard began his grass court campaign successfully against Francisco Cerundolo to enter into the last 16. Alcaraz crushed Cerundolo with a score of  6-1, 7-5, without giving the Argentine any chance to make a comeback. This resounding win certainly announces the confidence and his challenge to the players, as he gets ready to defend his grass titles.

However, Alcaraz is not the only tennis player cheering for Spain as the entire Europe is wild with the football fever. Rafael Nadal is all set to cheer for his country’s victory as he celebrated their phenomenal win over Croatia at a successful start. Moreover, Rafa made the squad announcement for the EURO 2024, sharing the video featuring family members with this caption: “This is the definitive list of Spain for the @EURO2024 and there is no better narrator for this video than someone who knows A LOT about WIN: @RafaelNadal.”

As the two Spaniards cheer for their nation to win the championships, other European tennis starts are not far behind to cheer for their countries.
