Novak Djokovic rightly proved his saying, “You have to believe that everything is possible in life.” Despite having 24 Grand Slams, the Serb couldn’t win a gold medal until now in Paris. While his victory as the oldest male tennis player created quite a buzz, Djokovic chose to keep his faith in the Almighty. As the world can’t keep calm about the Serb’s magnificent form, Djokovic showcases himself as a believer along with being a hardworking athlete.

Djokovic stunned the spectators by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in an exciting men’s final at the Paris Olympics. The 37-year-old tennis legend played a powerful match to overcome the Wimbledon champion by 7-6(3), 7-6(2) and win his debut gold medal at the Olympics. After winning the match, Djokovic kneeled on the clay court, cried in absolute joy, and marked a cross on his chest to thank the Almighty for this important achievement. Despite winning 24 Grand Slams, the Serb had been excluded from the joy of winning an Olympic gold. This year, he finally achieved his dream and made Serbia proud once again.

Djokovic’s special moment on the court was shared by a fan, Oli London, on Twitter. Sharing the clip, that fan wrote, ” Novak Djokovic, a devout Orthodox Christian, gets down on his hands and knees to thank God after his victory at the Paris Olympics. ✝️🥇 The Serbian tennis champion, has won his first Olympic gold medal, after competing in 5 separate Olympic Games.”

In April, the Serb expressed his desire to perform his best at the Paris Olympics, given he has few chances to participate in this event before retirement. While receiving the Sportsman of the Year award at the Laureus Awards in Madrid, Djokovic said, “I hope I can play my best tennis.  At the end of the day, who knows if I will get another chance to play at the Olympic Games, they only come every four years, I will try to use this chance as best as possible.”
