Rafael Nadal‘s son never misses a chance to steal the spotlight! As the 22-time Grand Slam champion competes at the Paris Olympics playing doubles with Carlos Alcaraz, Rafa Jr.’s presence adds magic to the court. And now, ahead of the second-round clash, Nadal’s son hugging his father after waving to the crowd has stolen the show.

As the former world number one steps closer to his retirement, his 22-month-old son has been accompanying him with his mom, watching his dad compete in the Olympics for the last time. On the other hand, when the 38-year-old was getting ready to square off against the Netherlands’ Tallon Griekspoor-Wesley Koolhof, a video of Nadal enjoying a father-son moment went viral on social media.

A Twitter user shared a video in which both Rafas were seen playing with the lights, laughing with each other. Rafa Jr. had his left hand extended as if waving to the audience, as his dad often does,. After that, seemingly out of nowhere, the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s son wrapped his arms around his neck, while Rafa himself dwelled on the moment and hugged him back tightly. Alcaraz could also be seen in the background, smiling at the family.

Rafa Jr. showed off his tennis strokes by swinging a ‘Pure Aero Babolat’ racket as his legendary father put his own racket to good use on court, winning his first doubles match with Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz against their Argentine opponents.

Unlike his father, in one of the clips from the first round clash, baby Rafa preferred to swing his racket with both hands in forehand and backhand movements while sitting on his mother María’s lap, while his father preferred to play left-handed despite being right-handed. Following that, under his mother’s careful supervision, the 38-year-old tennis legend’s son showed off his growing agility during the match, resembling his father on the court.

Grimacing at the tension, baby Rafa eveb buried his head in his hands, and gave some serious side eye. Subsequently, earlier this year, Nadal had shared insights into fatherhood with E! stating, “Everything surprises you because everything is new.
