But as the German No. 1 player gears up for his first clash at Roland Garros, the question on everyone’s mind is: will he witness his eternal supporter, Sophia Thomalla, cheering for him in the stands?

Alexander Zverev and Sophia Thomalla have been dating each other since 2020. The couple has often captured headlines for the adorable moments they have shared on and off the court. However, the other crucial factor that has garnered the attention of the tennis community is Thomalla’s support for the German star. She has often been spotted in the stands during Zverev’s matches, and fans are once again expecting her presence in Paris. 

But, as Zverev gears up to face Spain’s Jaume Munar in the first round of the tournament, he is unlikely to witness Thomalla cheering for him. The German actress and model is currently on her professional duty in Berlin, per her latest Instagram stories and posts. She was also on a shoot for AB haircouture, a Berlin-based hair salon, two days ago. Additionally, Zverev’s previous campaign on the clay court, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the finals, also didn’t see Thomalla in the stands. 

Nevertheless, the German model has been a cheerful spirit for Zverev. And even the German star player has admitted to this fact. In an interview in 2021, Zverev said, “I play extremely well with her behind me and I hope that will continue.” She has accompanied Zverev on multiple occasions including the recently concluded grass-court Grand Slam in Wimbledon. But despite her absence, Thomalla has ensured to help her beau in the best possible ways.

Alexander Zverev is fresh off his home tournament at the Hamburg Open. While he lost to Arthur Fils in the finals, his success as a runner-up of the tournament cannot be belittled. And the German star revealed the support that he received from his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla. 

Speaking of his schedule, the star player revealed, “I sleep until 12.30 p.m,” per Bild, a German publication. “My mother or Sophia make breakfast. I am not allowed into the kitchen. If I were, the house would no longer be standing afterwards.” The German player lives with his parents, brother Mischa, his family, and his girlfriend Sophia Thomalla in his parent’s house in the Hamburg district of Lemsahl. 

As the Summer Olympics unfold, it would be interesting to see if Zverev can defend his Gold medal despite the absence of his lady luck. Will Thomalla appear if Zverev advances to a further stage? Well, only time will tell.
