Valentine’s Day: When Roger Federer Declared Wife Mirka ‘The Best Partner’ on and off the Court Over Tom Brady

Behind every successful man is a lady who has always supported him no matter what. The same has been the case with tennis legend Roger Federer as well. Throughout his time as a professional player, the Swiss sensation dealt with many highs and lows. However, his wife, Mirka Federer stood there like a rock and the 20-time grand slam winner has always acknowledged it.

But, there came a time, back at the 2017 Met Gala event, when Federer seemed to have chosen Tom Brady as his new doubles partner. However, the Swiss legend instantly corrected his mistake and chose the love of his life as the best partner that he already had both on and off the tennis courts.

Roger Federer backed wife Mirka as his best partner while parting ways with Tom Brady

Back in 2017, Swiss maestro Roger Federer attended the Met Gala event. In a star-studded event that had some of the best names, he got a chance to meet and greet with NFL legend Tom Brady as well. The Swiss hero gave us a glimpse of his playful side at the Met Gala as he posted a series of threads of his X (formerly Twitter) account.

He posted a photo of him with Tom Brady. Not only this, he jokingly hinted at a new doubles partner, sharing a snapshot with football icon Tom Brady and captioning it, ‘found a potential doubles partner inside #metgala.’ However, the Swiss was quick to rectify his mistake. In the very next post, Federer melted hearts by declaring his true partner in crime, his wife, Mirka is the one partner that he already has.

With a sweet photo of them together, he affirmed, ‘Actually, I had the best partner already by my side 😍,’ said the Swiss star as he posted a photo of them together.

Thus, Roger Federer, who was on the verge of joining hands with a new partner quickly realised that his valentine was already there holding his hands through all the thicks and thins.

Back in 2009, Roger Federer and Mirka Federer got the news that they were becoming parents for the first time. While this was big news for them, it came ahead with a lot of responsibilities. However, Mirka never shied away from them and was always up for anything that she could do. This is why Roger Federer termed her his ‘rock’.

Federer once called his wife Mirka his ‘rock’

In an interview a long time back, the Swiss legend suggested that his wife Mirka was really very helpful. She did not care what time it was or anything, she was always open to helping in whichever way she could. This selfless act eventually led Federer to call his wife his ‘rock’.

“That’s a big help, but Mirka is really hands-on,” Federer said. “Mirka doesn’t mind getting up in the night, doesn’t mind feeding the babies at whatever time, changing the nappies. For her, if she can’t do it, it’s like she’s missing out on something. She’s a rock,” Federer said. “So strong, and maybe that’s from tennis as well. Her mind is very strong and also the way she’s handling everything now since the births.”

Thus, Roger Federer and wife Mirka have always been there for each other no matter what. While the Swiss legend has always been open about crediting her as the best, he knows that no one could take her place away.
