Tom Brady played in the NFL for over two decades. During those two decades, he established himself as arguably the greatest quarterback football has ever seen. After 23 glorious years in the NFL, Brady called time on his pro football career. However, four months after retiring, Brady is still a monumental figure in global sports. Brady’s most recent appearance came as a surprise, and it came in the final of the 2023 French Open. The cameras at the Stade Roland Garros caught him sitting in Novak Djokovic‘s box. It seemed that Brady’s backing was nothing short of a blessing for the Serbian tennis legend.

Djokovic didn’t take much time to assert his dominance, and his performance left Brady mesmerized along with everyone else present to witness the spectacle. According to eminent tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg, Brady’s presence in Djokovic’s box is a sign that there’s still a lot more to come from the 36-year-old Serbian. It also comes only a few months after Brady heaped praises on Djokovic’s long-time rival Roger Federer.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have dominated the GOAT debate in the tennis world for almost two decades. However, Serbian Novak Djokovic, despite Federer and Nadal’s incredible charisma and fan following, kept on clinching title after title. At the 2023 Grand Slam, Djokovic got the chance to win his twenty third tennis major and cement his legacy as the undisputed GOAT of men’s tennis. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t disappoint. He had some big names supporting him in the stands, but perhaps the biggest among them was former NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

The fact that Brady was in Djokovic’s box indicated that the Serbian had invited the NFL immortal to back him. Ben Rothenberg, the famous tennis journalist, took to Twitter to offer his opinion on Brady’s presence in Djokovic’s box. Rothenberg wrote, “Having Tom Brady in his box for this #RolandGarros final is a pretty, pretty good sign that Novak Djokovic wants to hang around this sport for many more years.

Seems like Djokovic was eager to become the men’s tennis GOAT in front of the NFL GOAT. Only a few months ago, Brady sang praises for Roger Federer. The Swiss was engaged in a rivalry of epic proportions with Djokovic before he retired in 2022.
