John McEnroe will lock horns with Drew Brees in a pickleball match

According to an exclusive report from the crescentcitysports, the Hall of Famer will be featured in a celebrity exhibition pickleball match that will take place the next month, at the NOLA Pickle Fest. On the courts of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, John McEnroe and the American football quarterback, Drew Brees will square off in a totally disparate sport.
Prior to his thrilling matchup, the former NFL quarterback has already expressed his excitement for the pickleball fest. He said, “Brittany and I are very excited for the NOLA, and thankful that John McEnroe and b1BANK are helping us in our ongoing efforts to help those in need in throughout Gulf Coast,” said Brees.
The tournament in New Orleans will be played in a round-robin format and will also feature a number of PickleRoll courts, live music, and VIP experiences.
With his participation in the exhibition and the Pickleball Slam, the former tennis ace has made it clear that he is now inclined towards the new racket sport. However, prior to this, the 64-year-old was quite blunt in criticizing the paddle sport.

McEnroe previously had some harsh remarks about pickleball
In a previous interview, the Hall of Famer was asked about his tennis-to-pickleball transition. McEnroe was quite blunt in his response as he called the paddle sport “cr*ppy” while claiming that the participants are much more prone to injuries than in tennis. He concluded his assessment of the new racket game by saying, “it’s absolutely pathetic, but besides that, it’s a great sport.”
