While every other tennis enthusiast tries to emulate Djokovic in one way or another, where does the Serb seek motivation from? Being exposed to questions about his retirement plans, Nole recently revealed that he wants to emulate the longevity shown by the greatest American Quarterback, Tom Brady.

Almost every other tennis star’s speeches these days echo the name of tennis legend Novak Djokovic who, even at the age of 36, is holding exceptionally well. However, Djokovic too has someone to look up to. On being asked about his retirement plans, he made a surprising revelation by pointing to none other than the renowned NFL star Tom Brady.

“I know [Tom Brady] personally as well and learnt a lot from him, his example, and hopefully I can have a career that goes to 40 or maybe even beyond. Let’s see,” Djokovic mentioned, expressing his desire to be on an extended career, driven by Brady’s feat.

As the Serb sees age as just a number, his revelation proved that Brady’s extended career is a point of motivation for him. While the former NFL star stayed in the game until he turned 40, Djokovic’s verdict of being inspired by him assures fans that their favorite tennis star will not be announcing his retirement anytime soon.

Djokovic’s aim to beat Jimmy Connors’ feat

As the Serbian tennis legend looks forward to Tom Brady’s long career, he also has an eye on the tennis legend Jimmy Connors. As the tennis star recently announced his plans for the upcoming season, he pointed towards overcoming Connors’ feat of having the most titles.

“Why shouldn’t I try to break that record? I currently have 12 fewer titles but I still have a few more successful years left in tennis, and I try to enjoy these moments which now mean and are worth double to me, “ said Djokovic, setting another target for himself. As the Serb confirmed his stay of at least 4 years in the game, do you think he will be able to surpass Jimmy Connors’ record?
