Recently, the Aussie star took to his Twitter to share a rather hysterical but ironic tweet, talking about the multiple clay tournaments taking place right now. “It’s detrimental to the sport,” he said.

For tennis enthusiasts, no amount of tennis is ever enough. However, as a player, Nick feels the sport is moving backward with the rising clay tournaments, as they hold little value. His comments came in as a reply to an update of ongoing competitions.
He said, “Bro why is there still clay bringing in absolutely ZERO FANS, ZERO CROWDS. ZERO HYPE. It?s detrimental to the sport. My god. Excluding Gasquet, cuz he playing for just points this is just sad man. No wonder we are going backwards.”

While many agreed with the Aussie, he also faced backlash for his harsh criticism. Regardless, he indulged in friendly banter with one of the journalists who reported his unfiltered comments.
