John McEnroe once talked about his father
The American tennis legend, McEnroe, once recalled a conversation he had with his father. It was regarding his temperament issues as the former tennis player used to yell at the umpires during his matches. He stated, “Where I grew up, let’s just say it was a loud dinner table. My father would say, “You don’t need to yell at the umpires. You’re better than them. Just go out and play.”
McEnroe said that his father once advised him to not yell at the umpires and concentrate on his game instead. Further, he gave an account of his first impressions of Wimbledon.
The former tennis player added, “I was taken aback when I went to Wimbledon the first time, thinking, God, they’re really polite here, they’re so quiet, it’s unbelievable. And then they probably looked at me and thought, Oh my God, here’s this Irish-American kid who talks too loud.”

The American tennis legend, McEnroe recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer. The 20-time Grand Slam champion recently posted about his retirement decision on his social media. There were many rumors about Federer making a comeback. However, the Swiss Maestro shocked the world by announcing his retirement, citing his injuries and aging body as the main reasons.
