Andre Agassi has had quite an eventful career. He ruled the tennis world during the 1990s and became one of the greatest of his time. Eventually, he went on to record eight Grand Slam titles, becoming one of the legends of the game. Along with his on-court exploits, Agassi was known for his off-court activities too. He was a poster boy of tennis once, appearing in various commercials. Further, he also had an eye-catching relationship with American actress, Barbra Streisand.

Streisand is 28 years older than Agassi and their romance became the talk of the town while they were dating. Recently, Streisand’s memoir is in the news ahead of its release on November 7. In the new memoir, she has revealed her relationships with the likes of Agassi and Pierre Trudeau. Here’s why she mentioned them in her memoir.

The 81-year-old actress’ new memoir is named ‘My Name Is Barbra’. In the book, she talked about various subjects – from personal to her professional life. Additionally, she also revealed her dating history with the likes of Agassi and Trudeau.

Talking about why she mentioned her dating life in the book, Streisand said, “Listen, I didn’t want to write about any of them. My editor said, ‘You have to leave some blood on the page!'” Further, the editor, Gayle King mentioned, “I like knowing that Barbra had a very nice dating roster. I like that, myself. Did you have a good time?” Replying to this question, Streisand said, “With the men in my life, yes.”

Agassi’s links with Streisand created quite a controversy and raised many eyebrows due to the massive age difference between the two. They dated for a year from 1992 to 1993. Agassi once made a bold statement on why he dated a much older Streisand.

Last year, the American tennis legend was involved in an interview where he opened up about his relationship with Streisand. The couple’s linkup shifted the world’s attention from Agassi’s on-court performances to his personal life.

Talking about this, Agassi said, “We agree that we’re good for each other, and so what if she’s twenty-eight years older? We’re simpatico, and the public outcry only adds spice to our connection.”

Further, he went on to add, “It makes our friendship feel forbidden, taboo – another piece of my overall rebellion. Dating Barbra Streisand is like wearing Hot Lava.”

Streisand’s book releases in a couple of days and it’ll be interesting to see what stories it unfolds. After a much-awaited wait, the book will finally be out as fans can’t control their excitement at grabbing a copy of it.
