Since the launch of its inaugural edition in 2017, the main attraction of the Laver Cup has been Federer and Nadal. Even though they didn’t pair up in 2018, the duo got back to team up in the 2019 edition that took place in Geneva.
So far, team Europe is invincible in the tournament and with Nadal-Federer pairing up once again, it’s no surprise to say that they enter London as heavy favorites over team World.
During an interview with Credit Suisse, Roger Federer congratulated Nadal on crossing his slams record at the Australian Open by defeating Daniil Medvedev in a five-set thriller. The Swiss star admitted that he couldn’t catch the entire match but got to watch the end and the post-match presentation.

Both Nadal and Federer maintained humongous respect for each other over the years despite sharing intense rivalry on-court. To this day, they maintain the same respect for each other and can pull off huge crowds whenever they step on to a tennis court.
The last time fans got to see ‘Fedal’ together was at the ‘Match for Africa’ exhibition event conducted by Federer to raise money for his foundation. Their match-up recorded 51,954 spectators, the highest-ever for a tennis match.
The O2 Arena in London will light up as these two stars team up to represent team Europe for the fifth edition of the Laver Cup later this September.
