Matteo Berrettini had some words for the crowd
The match between Gael Monfils (no.17 seed) and Matteo Berrettini (no.7 seed) had some amazing shots, rallies, and much more. Matteo took a two-set lead against the Frenchman and looked the favorite to win the tie in straight sets. However, the no.17 seed fought back against the Italian.
Known for being an entertainer, Monfils showed extreme composer to win back-to-back sets against the no.7 seed. The decider, however, didn’t go according to Monfils’ plans, as he looked tired after playing four exhausting sets of tennis.

In the end, Berrettini won the match by 6-4,6-4,3-6,3-6,6-2 in 3 hours and 49 minutes. However, one interesting thing happened at the post-match interview when a member of the crowd interrupted Matteo’s interview and said, “Yo Matt, F*** You.” In reply, Matteo gave a very classy answer, which is a testament to his character.
“It’s full of people and I like it. Some of them are not really tennis fans, I think, but it is what it is. You cannot control everybody, I think to be respectful is something you have to do anyway, but it’s fine. I win, I’m happy,” Matteo said.
