Given his tremendous accomplishments on the court, there is no denying Carlos Alcaraz has now emerged as a resounding figure in the tennis realm. With a spectacular exhibition of his prowess, the young Spaniard has already secured two Grand Slam triumphs at the mere age of 20. In the process, the young tennis star has also prevailed in his high-profile matches against big names like Novak Djokovic.
Alcaraz’s beastly game on the court has also caught the attention of the American tennis veteran, Jimmy Arias. While lauding his extraordinary skills, the 59-year-old was forced to recall an indomitable ‘US Open’ story of the Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer.

The American tennis veteran hails Carlos Alcaraz ahead of the US Open
In an honest conversation, Jimmy Arias was recently singing the praise of the Spanish tennis star’s uncanny ability to hit the ball from 10 feet behind the baseline. The former tennis player was astonished upon witnessing Alcaraz’s returns that often get landed in a deep corner of the court irrespective of the vast distance.
According to Arias, the 20-year-old’s beastly game style compels his opponents to be more aggressive on their returns or else offer him an easy volley to grab a point. Emphasizing the same, the American tennis veteran compared it to that of Roger Federer’s approach during his 2004 US Open final.
In the championship match in New York, the Swiss Maestro absolutely thumped his fierce opponent, Lleyton Hewitt. He later prevailed in the three-set blockbuster match, 6-0, 7-6(3), 6-0. No matter how hard the Aussie hit the ball, the former tennis ace promptly returned them with his impeccable timing on the court.

While drawing parallels between Federer and Alcaraz, Arias issued a warning to the Spaniard’s upcoming opponents. According to a report by the NY Times, he said, “The only thing you are going to be able to do is out-Alcaraz Alcaraz, Good luck with that.”
The current world no.1 has already received a lot of plaudits ahead of the US Open, where he will begin his title defense campaign against an unseeded opponent.
