Having a decent start to the 2022 season, Stefanos Tsitsipas is next set to play at the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells. However, before the start of the hardcourt tournament, the Greek has taken some time off-court to spend some quality time with his girlfriend, Theodora Petalas. The World No. 5 took to his Instagram, posting the first official photo with his girlfriend.
After winning one match at the 2022 ATP Cup, Tsitsipas next played the Australian Open. Having a decent run in the tournament, Tsitsipas reached the semi-finals at Melbourne Park. Hoping to go even further, Tsitsipas next played at the ATP 500 Rotterdam, losing in the finals. He further reached the quarterfinal at Marseille and the semifinal in Acapulco.

Tsitsipas spends time with his girlfriend
Yesterday, 5th March, Stefanos took to his Instagram, uploading a post. The post was a collection of photos of Tsitsipas with his girlfriend, Theodora Petalas. In the photos, the Greek can be seen spending some quality time with Theodora. The two roamed around on the streets, went to the beaches, attended a basketball game, amongst many other activities. Tsitsipas captioned the post, “It ain’t vanilla, I promise.”

Unlike the majority of players, Stefanos Tsitsipas has been quite vocal about his relationship with Theodora Petalas. According to the fashion magazine Marie Claire, Tsitsipas and Theodora have been dating each other for more than 3 years. It is speculated that the two first met in New York through their family friends.

In 2021, while interacting with the media, Tsitsipas confessed to getting attracted to Petalas from their first meeting itself. However, having a shy nature, it was after a long time that Tsitsipas finally asked her out for a date.

Stefanos Tsitsipas in Indian Wells 2021
Stefanos Tsitsipas last played at the ATP Masters 1000 Indian Wells last year. Entering the tournament as the second seed, Tsitsipas received a first-round bye. In the second round, he faced Pedro Martinez, beating him in straight sets. However, he was put to test in the third round while he faced Italian Fabio Fognini, managing to win in three sets. The tough path wasn’t over for the Greek yet, as he again escaped a close call in the third round, beating Australian Alex De Minaur in three sets.

Even though Tsitsipas managed to come out victorious in the previous two rounds, that wasn’t the case in the fourth. In the fourth round, he faced the 29th seeded Nikoloz Basilashvili, falling to him in three sets.
