Is there anyone who doesn’t know about Roger Federer‘s favorite Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph racket? Collaborating with this brand for over thirty years, Federer and Wilson share a deep bond and took the Swiss maestro’s help to bring rackets to the future generation. Taking an ode to Federer’s devotion to the brand, Wilson thought of making a signature move with the products. However, that didn’t take place as humble Federer brought a quick twist and showed the reason why everyone simply loves him.
Federer collaborated with his long-term sponsor, Wilson, to release a new racket that would elevate the sport of tennis. He had a conversation with Tennis Channel’s host Steve Weissman, where he delved deeper into this collaboration.
“Of course, having the RF logo on the racket already, I think, shows you that this is very serious for me. I mean, it’s a big honor for me to have an RF franchise at Wilson. You know, I’ve been with them for so long, ever since I played my first tournament at 8 years old it was with a Wilson racket, and I’ve never played another tournament with another brand, so for me to carry on the journey together, with Wilson with my own initials and my brand is incredible,” Federer said in the beginning.

Despite having the RF logo on the butt of the handle, Federer revealed that he wanted to go forward with Wilson’s giant “W” logo on the strings saying “there was some talk about maybe putting the RF logo on the strings but, I don’t know, it would have broken my heart to see Wilson go on the strings because Wilson’s been so good to me.“
He also mentioned how he was vested with Wilson’s team in bringing a racket that would help the young tennis players in the future. Federer attempted to blend his knowledge of the sport and wanted to try a lighter frame. For Federer, “it’s been a great process, and I ‘m very happy with the end result, to be honest,” he said.

Federer’s statement echoed his love for his long-term racket sponsors. He has been working with this brand since he was 8. Federer mostly used a lightweight purple Wilson racket and once mentioned“the top was completely shaven off, there were holes at the top,” due to heavy use. His comments represented his delight in working with his favorite racket brand.
Roger Federer was “excited“ working with Wilson
Releasing the signature RF racket with Wilson must have been an ecstatic feeling for the Swiss former tennis maestro. He also expressed the same during a press release. “Having spent my whole career playing with Wilson racket. I’m excited about the new RF Collection that we’ve created together, I hope the collection inspires the stars of today as much as I was inspired the first time that I picked up a Wilson racket,“ Federer said.

He used a Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 and then moved to a Wilson Pro Staff RF Autograph with a 97 square-inch head later. The Swiss former tennis legend previously mentioned getting Wilson rackets as birthday or Christmas gifts, showing how connected he is with this brand.
Federer was elated to collaborate with Wimbledon. Following the legend’s take on elevating the players’ experience with the new range of rackets, people believe this racket will storm the stores with skyrocketed demands among the players. Will you be in line?
