Last year marked the end of an era in tennis. Swiss maestro, Roger Federer called time on his illustrious career after more than 25 years of service to the sport. He last played at the Laver Cup alongside his long-time rival, Rafael Nadal. Not only his fans but also fellow players were left saddened as his void was impossible to fill after his retirement. Now months after his retirement, Federer has made a massive revelation about his future.

Following the end of his career, the 20-time Grand Slam champion has focused on his family and business ventures. Here’s what he said about his future.

Recently, the former World Number 1 appeared for an interview with GQ. During that talk, he was asked what was his next big goal. Federer, who has been much active off the court, made an interesting admission.

Replying to that question, he said, “My children are 9 and 14, so the next few years will of course be super exciting and crucial in our family. I want to be there for them, watch them grow up and help them in every way as best I can. Professionally, I have to make the leap from active athlete to businessman.”

Further, he went on to add, “I want to continue to be part of the sport, find great partners, get involved, get involved, and help shape it. I will definitely remain loyal to tennis, in what form it remains to be seen.”

Despite his retirement, Federer wants to remain committed to tennis. During the interview, he also went on to reveal the idea of a significant investment.

What did Federer say about his future investments?

Ever since his retirement, Federer has significantly expanded his business portfolio. He has investments in some of the top companies like On Shoes. Talking about the idea of making a perfect significant investment, he said, “money doesn’t always have to be the main driver. Sometimes a good idea or time is a much more significant investment.”

On the personal front too, Federer is having the time of his life. Recently, he went on a family trip to Japan where he played a tennis practice session with his wife and kids. As the future holds bright for Federer, it’ll be interesting to see what he comes up with!
