On the other hand, Roberto Bautista Agut led by a break twice in the fourth set against Fabio Fognini, but Fognini broke back each time, keeping the match close. The match was suspended due to heavy rainfall towards the end of the set. When play resumed the next day, Bautista Agut won the fourth set in a tie-break. He continued his momentum in the final set, securing a 7-6 (6), 3-6, 5-7, 7-6 (1), 6-4 victory.
