Wimbledon is a tournament famed for its strict adherence to scheduling and rules. The only grass-court major is known for not being flagrant about their rules for anyone, not even the royal family. However, a recent event during the match between Novak Djokovic and Andrey Rublev ended up creating a disturbance during the match. The act even made John McEnroe angry, as he brutally criticized the event organizers for the issue.

This is not the first time this year’s Wimbledon has served to irritate Djokovic. Due to its strict curfew of 11 p.m., many matches were postponed. Two of those matches were Djokovic’s. With constant postponements, the Serbian player advised the tournament on how they should improve.

The first two sets of the first gentlemen’s singles quarterfinal were nail-biters. Rublev managed to claim the first set with a score of 6-4. But as he gained an insurmountable advantage in the second set, he peaked hope once again, and many started returning to their seats. This was a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, as Wimbledon does not allow viewers to enter after the match has commenced.

Novak Djokovic gives serious advice to Wimbledon

Many matches were either delayed or postponed at the grass majors due to the bad weather. However, two of Djokovic’s matches were postponed for reasons that had nothing to do with the weather. His matches saw delays due to the strict curfew of 11 p.m. Vexed by the two delays, Djokovic advised the tournament organizers to begin matchdays earlier, at 12 p.m. GMT.
