Is Morgan Riddle right to rally fans against Zverev while Fritz fights for his Wimbledon dream?

The 2024 Wimbledon has been all about power couples taking center stage. Take the example of Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya. The duo is often seen cheering for each other at Wimbledon from the stands. Earlier today, when Kalinskaya had to withdraw from the tournament due to an injury, Sinner sympathized with her and urged her to come back stronger. Another such example has been Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle.

The American star has been impressive at this year’s Wimbledon Championships, putting on amazing performances en route to the pre-quarterfinal. He is currently playing Alexander Zverev, who has rediscovered his best form. Despite giving his all, Fritz is trailing two sets to one against the German star. However, as he looks to make a comeback after losing the first two sets, Fritz has received a moment of inspiration from his girlfriend, Morgan Riddle.

Riddle has accompanied Fritz and is cheering for him from the stands. As Fritz won a set after losing the opening two sets, Riddle called on more and more fans to support her boyfriend. She took to her official Instagram handle and shared a story that showed a glimpse of her attending the match between Fritz and Zverev. Additionally, she wrote, “Cheer loud ladies,” with the three-word message creating a maximum impact on Fritz’s survival at the Wimbledon Championships.

While Riddle has been a constant source of support for Fritz at Wimbledon, she is also working as an influencer at the tournament. She has posted a series of behind-the-scenes glimpses on “Wimbledon Threads.” While she is catching fans’ attention through it, Fritz is in the news regarding his comments against his second-round opponent.

During the second round of the Wimbledon Championships, Fritz was up against Arthur Rinderknech of France. The two were engrossed in a tight encounter, which was eventually won by the American star in four sets. However, Rinderknech gave Fritz a run for his money and even played mind games during their encounter.

Before the match, the French star mentioned, He [Taylor Fritz] won’t cry as much. He whined a bit saying it was too noisy. I hold no grudge against him but he was wrong if he thought the crowd would send him kisses in between points.”

Eventually, it was Fritz who had the last laugh, and he hit back at his opponent by telling him to have a nice flight back home during their handshake. Subsequently, Fritz defended his words during an interview by saying, “I am really just a chill guy. I don’t have issues with anybody. So it is pretty surprising when I am getting tagged and all this stuff like just randomly starts like taking some jabs at me before the match. So if you are going to do that, don’t expect me to be nice after the match.”
