Novak Djokovic is finally back to his best. After a disappointing start to the 2022 season, the Serb successfully defended his Wimbledon title. He defeated Australia’s Nick Kyrgios in an enticing match to win his 21st Grand Slam title. Moreover, it was Djokovic’s maiden victory over Kyrgios, having lost on two previous occasions.

The entire tennis fraternity was all-praise for Djokovic on his brilliant performance throughout the tournament. Yesterday, the Serb shared a video of him with his kids at Wimbledon. Reacting to this, Rafael Nadal had a wonderful message for him.

Djokovic took to Instagram to share a video of him enjoying with his kids on Centre Court of Wimbledon. Further, he said, “Precious moment with my family this morning. What a joy seeing them run on this legendary court! What a privilege to share my journey with them. Thank you Wimbledon for this opportunity. Taking home many memories for the lifetime.”?

Subsequently, reacting to this, Nadal commented, “Wow! Great moment! Enjoy it and many congrats!”

Further, with Djokovic’s Wimbledon victory, he is just one Grand Slam title away from equaling Nadal’s record of 22 major titles. The two were tied at 20 Grand Slam titles apiece at the beginning of this year. However, Nadal won the Australian Open and the French Open titles to gain a lead in this race. Meanwhile, Djokovic moved ahead of Federer’s haul of 20 Grand Slam titles.

Despite defending his Wimbledon title, Djokovic lost the 2000 ranking points that he had earned last season since points weren’t on offer at this year’s Wimbledon Championships. As a result, Djokovic dropped four places to Number 7 in the latest ATP rankings.

Djokovic unsure of his US Open participation

Talking about his US Open participation, the Serb said, “I don’t know. I don’t think exemption is realistically possible. If that is possibility, I don’t know what exemption would be about.”
