In light of the dismay of some visitors, the chief executive of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Sally Bolton has given a strong warning for couples accessing the quiet area for their own personal enjoyment. According to a report from telegraph.co.uk, she has made it clear that the authorities will be retaining the ?sanctuary? in order to make sure that the visitors are using it in the appropriate manner.
Bolton has also urged people to respect the secluded room, which is only meant for other purposes like prayer, meditation, breastfeeding, and the space also provides guests with a way to shield themselves from the sunlight. She said, ?If people need space to go to pray, it?s the quiet space for that. There is an opportunity to breastfeed in there. But, we are looking for it to be used in the right way.?
In the previous season’s grass court major event, there were many visitors who complained about overly affectionate couples leaving the quiet room at the rear of Court 12.
