The thrill of victory might be sweet, but for Daniil Medvedev’s wife, it also has a dash of savory and crispiness to it! And why not? When you witness an intensely high-level quarterfinal clash between Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev, a “boost of energy” is a must for anyone! As Medvedev fought and won over World No. 1, his wife Daria dived into the delightful world of snack obsession.
The Russian tennis star struck down an unwell Sinner in a topsy-turvy match by 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3. But that was not the only highlight of the match! Behind the scenes, Medvedev’s wife also shared the spotlight, as her secret passion for snacking triggered, watching her husband’s tightly fought match. Sharing a glimpse of that on Instagram Story, Daria posted a video, captioning, “Post-match recovery snack: Cacao supports mental health that needs an extra boost after today 😂”
In the video she shared, Medvedev’s wife is savoring a small piece of what looks like a bar of chocolate, while attentively observing her husband’s game. We all understand her feelings! After all, the nerve-wracking match put us all on the edge of our seats throughout the four-hour-long battle, and Medvedev knows it too. “I knew if I want to beat Jannik, it needs to be a tough match,” the 28-year-old had said, and is now in the semifinals of Wimbledon for the second consecutive time.

Interestingly, the snack that she was munching on was from RawQ, a company that she herself co-founded alongside a lifelong friend Arina Kuzmina, who happens to be an integrative health coach. Known for providing rich energy and proper diet-based food, the brand has a uniquely flavored food (especially fruits) collection and energy bars that are essential to getting an instant dose of energy.
Back in 2023, Medvedev had boasted high RawQ. He was only too happy to serve as primary taste-tester through the development phase, and is now RawQ’s lead endorsee, featuring prominently on the brand’s website and social pages. He even offered up signed racquets as a pre-order sign-up prize. “My wife thought it was an interesting topic, and decided to make the perfect bar, not only for me, but also to sell it and make it a big product.”

After all, Medvedev’s nature to “fight” on-court is the very thing that caught her attention as a kid in the first place!

Daria lauded Daniil’s unchanged spirit!
Much like Daniil, Daria too was interested in tennis when she was young. And that planted the seed of their love story! Daria, who was 12 years old at the time, dined with her team at a cafe close to the tennis court and saw Medvedev play on the nearby tennis court, leaving her highly impressed. While explaining that three-and-a-half-hour match, she once said, “He used to fight till the end; he was prepared to do anything on the court, no matter how ugly his game may look, to win. In this sense, he hasn’t changed at all.”

Although, later on, Medvedev’s wife left tennis owing to an injury, her connection to tennis never dimmed. This is because a few years later, after her first meeting with Medvedev, they both started dating! A decade has passed since then, but Daria’s love for watching his husband’s tenacity and perseverance while playing a match still keeps her nerves on edge and sometimes her appetite too!
