When Djokovic defeated Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in a 6-set match yesterday at Court 11 in Wimbledon, his wife Jelena Djokovic, along with their son and daughter, Stefan and Tara, were there to witness it. Now, a clip of his son Stefan is making rounds on the internet, showcasing he might be Djokovic’s legacy-bearer in the family.

The official Twitter page of Wimbledon shared a clip of Djokovic’s third-set win against the Australian when fans spotted Stefan standing in excitement and imitating his father’s stroke. Djokovic’s wife, sitting next to Stefan, was also amused by her son’s enthusiasm as he witnessed his father’s on-court brilliance.“Stefan Djokovic imitating dad’s smash is too cute,” captioned the page. While this clip helped everyone understand how interested Djokovic’s son is in the sport, another image revealed his daughter Tara’s intentions too.

On the other hand, when it comes to the former world’s number one ATP star’s daughter Tara Djokovic, she has her own way of enjoying her father’s matches. A reliable Djokovic fan named Danny shared an image, where she was engrossed in her Unicorn Academy book while others were excited. Both the clip and the picture were adorable, revealing who in the Djokovic family might carry on their father’s legacy in the sport.

In April this year, Djokovic revealed his son’s favorite tennis player while engaging in a fun banter with Grigor Dimitrov. In 2022, before Djokovic’s Paris Masters quarterfinals, he revealed that his daughter is “a real girl” as she is “more into ballet.”  Although the 24-time Grand Slam winner mentioned Tara “started playing a few times a week with her friends from school,”  he further confirmed that “sometimes she’s really not interested.” 

Djokovic’s revelations, followed by the latest Wimbledon glimpses, made it clear that his son Stefan might take up the racquet and follow in his father’s footsteps. While his daughter is yet to make up her mind, their talented father wants “them have full freedom to enjoy and to choose what they want to do.”

However, the Djokovic couple is very active in their children’s upbringing. Working on different focus points, they ensure their children have the best guidance.

In April 2022, Djokovic spoke about how he and his wife separate their responsibilities to give their children the best possible future. He believes “it’s important for them to be active”, adding, “mom is more responsible for the intellectual side and books and taking care of their brain.” 

Referring to maintaining his children’s physicality, the serb further mentioned, “I’m more responsible for the movement and for their physical development that is affecting, of course, everything else. I’m just glad to see them being active and being outdoors. For me, that’s the key,” His statements highlight how focused they are on their children despite professional pressures.
