He defeated Mark Lajal, Aleksandar Vukic, Frances Tiafoe in a five-set thriller, Ugo Humbert, and Tommy Paul. He defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic, Alexandre Muller, Jan-Lennard Struff, Grigor Dimitrov (who retired), and Jannik Sinner. In the quarterfinals, Medvedev overcame Sinner in a five-set battle, winning 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3, despite scoring four fewer points overall.
