With the advancement of technology in the sporting world, there comes a series of tests to prevent irregularities and cheating. Among them are doping tests, which the players have to mandatorily undergo after being called for it. The consequences of missing these tests are severe and repeated offenses can even lead to suspension. Ask Frances Tiafoe, who had a nightmarish experience before undergoing these tests ahead of the Wimbledon Championships.

The American star has had a packed schedule as he participated in both, the Stuttgart Open as well as the Queen’s Club Championships. However, he retired midway through his opening-round clash at the Queen’s Club, suffering an MCL strain. Although the injury wasn’t serious, Tiafoe didn’t want to aggravate it ahead of Wimbledon.

Earlier this week, he made it to Wimbledon, where he was seen practicing along with Aryna Sabalenka. The American star received an unpleasant surprise there, as he was called for a doping test at the eleventh hour. Soon after, his girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, took to social media and shared the torrid time they had to face. Sharing a picture of them just waking up from the bed, Broomfield wrote, “Of course anti-doping come the one morning we try to sleep in.”
