Wimbledon is a place to fulfill the dreams of many tennis players! It’s not just the matches, locker room shenanigans, or the walk to the center court; each moment leading up to the match holds a special place in every player’s heart. For Andy Roddick, it is even more special as he got to share one of these intimate moments before a match with the love of his life. This happened when he took his wife, Brooklyn Decker, to the Wimbledon court once.

On the June 25 episode of “Served with Andy Roddick”, Jon Wertheim and Andy Roddick delved deeper into Roddick’s Wimbledon experience throughout his career, especially highlighting the behind-the-scenes moments of the Grand Slam tournament. Answering the question of “how cool” the whole experience was, Roddick explained the time when he took his wife, Decker, to Wimbledon. However, it was not during his matches but when the Wimbledon court was made public for a short time.

At that time, Roddick was there in London, playing in a different tournament. He grabbed the chance and took his wife, Decker, an American model, there. “I got to take Brooke (Brooklyn), my wife there to have a meal with the chairman. And the walk that I’ve made a million times, from the locker room to the center court where you’re walking through a club….she got to see, the walk that you do when you play in a final.”

“We got to make that walk together, which was really cool. And I think it was a cool experience for her as well. I loved that day,” concluded the 41-year-old former American tennis pro. The model and actress, Brooklyn Decker, has always been there to support the former World No. 1 during his matches at Wimbledon. Be it cheering for him from the stands or motivating him to do better, Brooklyn, who married Roddick in 2009, is always there for him.

Obviously, the support is mutual, often entertaining fans with their playful banter. In 2010, Roddick jokingly said he needed to take the trophy home from Wimbledon as otherwise, his “wife is going to end up more famous” than him. Apart from their funny banters, Roddick has a great respect for his wife as he stated in a 2022 interview with US Weekly, – I think we know that we each try to go above and beyond with our household responsibilities and the kids.”

Roddick explained, “I had actually a trading thing with Serena where we would trade men’s and women’s towels and leave them in each other’s lockers through the attendant.” Serena Williams’ pranks have always entertained fans, especially through her social media posts where she often shares glimpses of them.

However, planning a prank with Roddick during Wimbledon is something that fans did not know. As Wimbledon 2024 draws nearer, Roddick sharing special moments from his Wimbledon matches further heightens the excitement among tennis fans.
