Why do tennis players love Indian Wells?
The “Tennis Paradise” is considered one of the most fascinating tournaments on the ATP circuit. Held in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, which is a 54-acre tournament property, it’s regarded as “Fifth Grand Slam” because of its attendance figures. It has the third largest tennis stadium in the world (in terms of capacity) behind New York’s Arthur Ashe and London’s O2 Arena.
During the tournament this year, Eugenie Bouchard gave fans a tour of the fantastic facilities at the tournament. She even showed a unique “Miss you wall” which has cut-outs of the notable absentees from that year’s tournament.
Alongside fans, tennis professionals also love the tournament held in the beautiful desert region in California. On several occasions, players have confessed their enthusiasm about playing in California. Just this year, Novak Djokovic said Indian Wells was his “favorite place to go.”
