Andy Murray: Wimbledon champ but not 'cool' enough for his daughter—Isn't that just classic dad life?

Andy Murray is a strong player, but not a ‘cool’ dad! While the British tennis player is currently in his last Wimbledon before retirement, off the court, being a father is not an easy task for him. Recently, in a quick conversation, the former world number one revealed what his older kids among his four children think of him as a father.

Murray has four kids with his spouse, Kim. Sophia, the eldest, is eight years old, and their youngest just turned three. The former world number one has recently stated that he will give up professional tennis in the summer, meaning he will have a lot more time to spend with his family.

However, recently, in a conversation with Tennis Channel, before his doubles match with his brother, Andy Murray opened up about getting invited to his kids’ tea parties. Murray stated, “It probably goes youngest, I always do this, because, I don’t go with the names. So the fourth one, third one, second one, first one, would be the order.” Following that, he added, “Definitely, I have never been cool in her eyes.”

On the other hand, as the British tennis player didn’t play singles this year at Wimbledon, he was told to say goodbye to the event with a doubles match. However, during Murray’s doubles with brother Jamie in Centre Court farewell, his eldest daughter, Sophia, was present in the stands to cheer up her father, along with the entire family. However, a few weeks back, the 37-year-old tennis player shared a humorous insight into his family life, revealing that his kids often don’t want to talk to him during FaceTime calls.

Andy Murray’s kids don’t want to talk to him

The 36-year-old has been trying to video call his kids, but things haven’t gone as expected. Unless he’s using a funny filter, the majority of them seem uninterested! “It’s a bit different on FaceTime; like my eldest kids don’t really want to talk to me on FaceTime which is tough,” Murray said with a laugh.

Although the two-time Miami champion was able to establish a connection with his youngest children, Andy Murray clarified that their talks included more of lighthearted exchanges than meaningful dialogue. “And the youngest ones just want me to do like, you can do animal faces and dinosaur faces and stuff,” he hilariously explained.
