Czechia’s Tomas Machac is the latest star of the show. As he gears up for his third meet-up against two-time Wimbledon champion Andy Murray, there has been a lot of anticipation about whether his luck will shine out again. While Machac is attracting a lot of spotlight with his performance this season, his coach is catching more headlines than the player.
Tomas Machac is awaiting his round 1 Wimbledon clash against Andy Murray at the Center Court. The Czech player, who is showing good form this season, is partnering with former Czechoslovakia and Czech Republic player Daniel Vacek. While Vacek is working hard for Machac’s growth, he is allegedly associated with a fraud investigation in February.
As per the allegations, the Czech Tennis Federation gave funds for nonexistent or overpriced services to Vojtech Flegl, who runs a company responsible for organizing tennis tournaments. However, the funds were never used and sent to his other companies and family members. Given that Machac’s coach, Daniel Vacek, was the Federation’s secretary and financial head, he was also linked with the case. Vacek was detained and released in February.
