In an era so completely dominated by the Big Four- Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, not many tennis players have been able to make their marks on ATP circuit. However, the same cannot be said against Marin Cilic, the former World No. 3 from Croatia.
Cilic is one of the few players to have won 20 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including a Grand Slam title. He won the 2014 US Open, defeating Roger Federer in the semifinals and then Kei Nishikori in the finals. Cilic has also played the finals at 2 more grand slam tournaments- at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships and other 2018 Australian Open.
He has also reached the quarterfinals of all four Grand slams and all the nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments. Unlike some of the very elite top tennis players, he also has the silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the doubles category where he played with his friend and compatriot Ivan Dodig.

Cilic, who comes across has ascribed a lot of his success to his wife. He said that she has been her pillar of support while on tour. Kristina is often seen supporting her husband while he plays, but is herself quite the private person. While her husband does post about their happy family on his social media profiles once in a while, Milkovic is rarely seen in the mainstream media, or posting about themselves.

It has been reported that Kristina Milkovic was a hostess at the 2008 Davis Cup when the two met for the first time. She was an outstanding student who earned two Master’s degrees from the University of Zagreb in 2014, one in Political Science and the other in Psychology. Following graduation, Milkovic worked at Zagrebacka Banka, Croatia’s largest bank. Not only that, turns out, Cilic’s wife is a polyglot, speaking Croatian, English, Italian, and Spanish fluently! The couple dated for a long time and got engaged in July 2017. Cilic and Milkovic tied the knot a year later, in 2018 at the Nikola Church in Cavtat. Incidentally, fellow Croatian player Ivan Dodig served as Cilic’s best man.
Cilic is widely regarded as one of the greatest players from Croatia. He and his future coach are the only players from their country to win a singles Grand Slam. At 33 years of age, he is still active on tour and we hope that he continues to have the love and support of his wife!
