Behind every great athlete is a strong support system, and Nick Kyrgios is no exception! The Australian tennis star turned pro in 2013. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 13 in 2016 and has won seven titles, including a thrilling run to the Wimbledon final in 2022. However, injuries have sidelined him this year. Since the 2022 US Open quarter-finals, Kyrgios has been recovering from wrist and knee injuries. While off the court, he’s embraced a new venture: tennis commentary, which suits his sharp-witted and straightforward personality.
On the other hand, Kyrgios has also been enjoying quality time with family back in Australia. If you didn’t know, he’s the youngest of three kids born to Norlaila and Giorgos Kyrgios, who are his parents. Although Kyrgios’ siblings often stay out of the spotlight, they have played important roles in his tennis journey over the years.

Who are Nick Kyrgios’ big brother and sister?
The Aussie star grew up in Canberra, Australia with his siblings Halimah and Christos Kyrgios. Christos, the eldest, lives in Australia with his wife, Alicia, and their two daughters. He works as a gym instructor and fitness coach. His Instagram is filled with adorable family moments and motivational messages that inspire his followers. While his posts don’t include Nick as often, he’s often seen alongside Halimah. The middle child who shares a close bond with Nick.
Halimah is a talented singer and musician, known for her appearances on The Voice in Australia and performances in musical theatre. Nick even supported her during auditions via video call. Host Sonia Kruger praised Halimah’s performance as “amazing,” to which Nick proudly replied, “She always is.”
Before her time on The Voice, Halimah performed in musical theatres overseas. She starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express in Germany. Nick is a huge fan of his sister’s talent. “Hali is an amazing talent; whenever I get the chance, I go to her shows, no matter how big or small they may be. It is always nice seeing her do her thing,” he told The Canberra Times.
The siblings often share moments on social media, showcasing their close relationship. The last time they were all together was at Christos’s wedding in April last year.

While Christos Kyrgios may not often be seen with his ‘baby brother’ Nick, their bond remains strong. After Nick’s heartbreaking loss to Novak Djokovic at the 2022 Wimbledon, Christos was devastated. Concerned for Nick’s well-being, Christos reached out to the Australian newspaper The Age, sharing, “I’m far from perfect, but as a big brother it killed me seeing him go through the pain he was suffering. Mum was worried sick about him. We all were.”
Christos elaborated, “He was caught between trying to be someone everyone said he was and being the person he wanted to be.” Since 2019, Nick has been open about his mental health struggles. His family stepped in during tough times, helping him find his way back. Now, he looks happier and healthier as he dives into commentary for the sport.

As he works on his podcast, Nick Kyrgios has also taken on commentary roles for the 2024 Australian Open and Wimbledon! While at Melbourne Park with ESPN, Halimah showed her support by joining him in the commentary box. She shared a photo with Nick and Patrick McEnroe, captioned, “At the Tennis with a different view 🎾.” It must have brought back memories for the family; after all, Nick won his first junior singles title at the 2013 Australian Open when he was just 18.
