Almost everyone swears a little. ATP Champion, Novak Djokovic recently spoke about a majestic struggle. Djokovic took a very candid approach in his exclusive interview with Eurosport. He talked about his coach and former tennis player Goran Ivanisevic and the bond they share. He also brought forth some very interesting points. One in particular, where he explained a unique situation of trying to come up with new and creative slang and cuss words.

Novak Djokovic showed up at the ‘City of Light’ to make his appearance at the Paris Masters.  He is all set to take on Stan Wawrinka and Jannik Sinner alongside his partner Miomir Kecmanovic in the doubles match. Djokovic’s creativity doesn’t end at inventing new ways to win matches, as he is quite a player of words too.

Any athlete, whether professional or just a hobbyist knows how intense some games can become. Djokovic also admitted to having a similar stance about swearing while playing sports. Although, his situation seems to be quite different from that of normal folks. In his exclusive chat with Eurosport, he revealed quite a lot about this.

Novak Djokovic starts by talking about his relationship with his coach, Goran Ivanisevic. He says: “We have a lot of fun, we are great friends. We have a professional relationship.” He then mentions the actual problem, saying: “The problem we have, because of the success of Croatian and Serbian players in the last 30 years or so, we unfortunately have a situation where most of the umpires understand the swearing words.” However, it’s not like he does not have a solution for this problem. As per him: “So we have to play around a little bit, we have to use the slang, create new words, but when you’re p***** off you don’t think about creating.”

It was quite obvious that Djokovic was not just hyping himself up in all those matches. However, now we know exactly what was going on every time he spoke something in a different language. Containing emotions amidst intense matches surely demands an ability to be mentally tough, and Djokovic is again a winner.
