In the ongoing Wimbledon Championships, world number 40 Nick Kyrgios continued his brilliant run. He defeated Chile’s Cristian Garin in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 7-6(7-5) to enter his first-ever Grand Slam Semifinal. On the other hand, Spaniard Rafael Nadal showed extraordinary grit and perseverance to get the better of Taylor Fritz.

Nadal started his campaign at Wimbledon Championships 2022 with a four-set win against Francisco Cerundolo. Followed it up with another four-set win against Ricardas Berankis. In the third round, he defeated Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets, followed by another three-set victory against Botic Van de Zandschulp to book his quarterfinal slot against Taylor Fritz. He overcame a tough challenge from the American to book yet another Grand Slam semifinal slot.

On the other hand, Nick Kyrgios has won 21 out of 27 matches so far in the season. The Aussie started his Wimbledon Championship 2022 campaign with a win against Paul Juub in a tough five-set match. Further, he outclassed Filip Krajinovi? in straight sets. In a controversial third-round match against Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Aussie hold his nerve to win a four-set encounter and booked his fourth-round slot.

He defeated Brandon Nakashima in a five-set match to reach the quarterfinals, where he won in straight sets against Cristian Garin.

Nadal vs Kyrgios head to head

Nadal leads Kyrgios 6-3 in head-to-head encounters. While Nadal is going strong in the Grand Slams this year with a 19-0 record, Kyrgios has been exceptional on grass.
