As this year’s tennis season is about to come to an end, the last stage of the year is the ATP Finals. Before the tournament, the 31-year-old American tennis player found the perfect moment to look back to the time when he played the ATP Finals against Federer. He recently took to his Instagram account to share a video of the embarrassing moment the former world number one faced in front of his eyes.
Along with that, he wrote, “Whatever it takes to win a point.” It was a video from the 2017 ATP Tour finals where the 20-time Grand Slam champion was left red-faced after facing opponents’ cheeky tactics.
During the first game, the American tennis player attempted a harmless volley at Federer, but he sarcastically bent over and turned away from the net. Following that, Federer’s shot went into the net because he was so embarrassed by his opponent’s unexpected looming, while Sock won a small rare triumph.

Mortification follows Federer at Wimbledon
Despite being one of Wimbledon‘s most decorated players with 8 titles at the grass slam, the former tennis ace underwent an awkward exchange last year while visiting the official grounds when he was in the area. Federer claimed on his friend and late-night TV host Trevor Noah’s show that he was once denied access to the hallowed grounds of the Wimbledon Championships.

He recounted how he was stopped at the court’s entrance by a female security officer because he arrived without his membership card. Being one of the best-known faces in tennis, it turned out to be simultaneously awkward and amusing for the Swiss Maestro. But with his quintessential grace and humor, Federer referred to the woman as a “total Gangsta” for adhering to protocol and not allowing him to enter the court.
