There hasn’t been a single day in the Australian Open this year when Morgan Riddle didn’t make headlines. She knows how to stay in the limelight. And, recently she made a unique announcement of eating a jar full of Vegemite if her boyfriend Taylor Fritz wins his match against Stefanos Tsitsipas on Sunday.

The popular Australian food spread is something which Riddle had earlier confessed to disliking. And guess what? Frtiz defeated Tsitsipas by 7-6(3),5-7,6-3,6-3 in a 3-hour and 1-minute encounter at John Cain Arena to book his place into the QF. This means, Riddle will now have to eat a jar full of the dark brown stuff live to keep her promise to the fans.

This was Taylor Fritz’s first win over a Top 10 opponent in a Grand Slam tournament. After the match, the 26-year-old American was offered a jar full of Vegemite to give to his girlfriend. Taking the pot in hand, Fritz clarified that he wouldn’t be taking part in that Instagram live. However, he will definitely hand it over to Morgan Riddle to make sure she keeps her promise. After finishing the match Taylor Fritz said that he trusted his shots and felt he served well in that match. He added that this was perhaps one of the best tennis he has played to finish the game against Tsitsipas. During the on-court interview, he had revealed he had told his girlfriend that he’d win this match but Riddle thought he was too confident going into it. However, he overcame the Greek hurdle with flying colors, and up next is the mighty Serbian.
