Daniil Medvedev recently lost his top spot to Novak Djokovic following his early exit at the Indian Wells Masters. However, with the Serb out of the ongoing Miami Masters, he can reclaim the No.1 spot if he advances to the semifinals or beyond in Miami. In a bid to regain his top stop, Medvedev should be delighted with his performance against Andy Murray in his tournament opener. Following his 6-4, 6-2 over the former World No.1, the reigning US Open champion had a few thoughts to share about his opponent.

In a recent interview, Medvedev shared how he feels about Murray, who is still putting in a lot of effort despite going through plenty of injuries in the past few years. He said, “When he was 25 or maybe 20 years old, if people would tell him what he has achieved, would he continue playing at 34 and trying to get back, get some wins. I’m not sure he would say yes. It’s same for me. I never know how my life is going to turn, what’s gonna happen, but what he’s doing is amazing.”
