Is Paige Lorenze's diverse career a sign of ambition or just a lack of focus?

“I hope I can show people that you can live any sort of way you want to live,” says Paige Lorenze, one of the most popular tennis WAGs around and the girlfriend of American tennis star Tommy Paul. Dating the ATP star since 2022, Lorenze is perhaps best known for her fashion and role as a social media influencer. Indeed, more than 700k followers on her Instagram account are proof of that.

Growing up in Connecticut and Vermont, she eventually moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design, graduating in 2021. Her career as a model, content creator, and influencer took off after that. But her fashionable self did not let her remain confined in that only.

Lorenze channeled it with the launch of her lifestyle and clothing brand Dairy Boy in 2021. Her thoughts on creating the brand? “I want to build a brand that is a reflection of my style and aesthetic,” Lorenze had said in an interview with Elite Daily last year. Currently, it sells everything from clothing to candles to home decor items with a line called American Charm.

Dairy Boy went from something fun and silly (I was trying to make a point about drinking whole milk) to a real lifestyle brand. I want to create products that are in my home and timeless basics,” Lorenze had told WWD, while talking about her ultimate goal. And she made that become a reality while she was creating her own world.

Lorenze’s days in the ‘City That Never Sleeps’, in her own words, were not where she felt like herself in the haphazard way of urban life. Instead, she moved back home to Connecticut and, per Nylon magazine, has recently bought a house for herself. And what is her inspiration to make the house a home? Her very own American Charm, of course!

“Since I’m just moving, I have so many things I need for my house. But I’m just excited to do it all myself. … I want to make it feel very American Charm and the brand. A lot of our home goods we’re sampling already. I really want to use it for a year. I have knives, cutting boards, bowls, spoons, and all those things. I just want to use them in my home and see how they wear over time,” Lorenze had said to Nylon.

Is Paige Lorenze's diverse career a sign of ambition or just a lack of focus?

Have an interesting take?

From fashion to business, the young entrepreneur is covering as much ground as she can, as far as her personal interests are concerned. She tests the samples of what she sells on Dairy Boy, like a Dutch Oven in the works, and is determined to make a dent in the entrepreneurial world. Interestingly, Paige Lorenze thinks that this has nothing to do with where is based at.

“I think it’s important for girls to know that even if you still live in your hometown, even if you still live with your parents … you can create a job now from anywhere. There’s no reason to be ashamed. A lot of the times, people view moving back home as “you failed,” but I don’t think that’s true. I hope I can show people that you can live any sort of way you want to live,” asserts Lorenze. As she puts it, she was undeterred by people who said “You failed” because she returned home. The daring soul has a keen eye everywhere while building her brand.

Taking inspiration from everything around her, the influencer scours Pinterest and Etsy and even Maria Sharapova’s older iconic looks. Lorenze was even featured as a curator of looks by Target as part of the Future Collective initiative with three other stylish content creators: Tatiana Elizabeth, Gezelle Renee, and Danie Sierra. With so many colors to flaunt in her portfolio, which one does she adore the most?

As Lorenzo had told, the businesswoman side in her prevails here. “My dream is to be the creative director and CEO of [Dairy Boy] and as I get older kind of lean away from the influencer world. I’m proud of what I’ve been able to create and it’s been a fun journey,” she had explained. With her impeccable fashion sense, she has been called the ‘Lady Diana of Wimbledon’ and she is understandably honored about that. Indeed, Lorenze has her own unique ensemble to pull that off.

“I would definitely say that my style is a mix of inspiration from western minimalism (I love a white tank tee and good quality denim with some leather boots and our Dairy Bot hats), along with timeless and romantic, as I love to mix pastels and chic tailoring, especially vintage silhouettes,” Lorenze had said explaining her style. If some milestone moments were to be counted from 2024, where Lorenze caught the eye in Paul’s box, it would probably be Wimbledon. But over and above her style, it had become a bit controversial.

Sharing passion for sports, Lorenze goes to lengths to stand by Tommy Paul

At the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Lorenze’s tweed outfit perfectly fit the aesthetic of the oldest Grand Slam. Before that, when Paul won the Queen’s Club Championships trophy, Lorenze broke protocol and went to the court to pose with her boyfriend, grabbing him by the neck and apparently pulling him toward her. Social media buzzed at the incident with many enthusiasts not quite approving of it. However Lorenze was upbeat as ever.

“Love celebrating your hard-earned victory alongside you Tommy Paul. I am so proud of you, and grateful to be by your side through every win and challenge. Here’s to many more! I love you!” she had written on social media. Nevertheless, she remains confident of not just her relationship but who she is and what she wants to do. Before the US Open, Lorenze stated, “I’m probably most excited for the looks this year than I’ve ever been because I feel like it’s the most me.”

To an outside eye, it might seem like Paige Lorenze and Tommy Paul might not have a lot in common. But their interests are more similar than you’d think!

Tommy Paul is now the fourth American man in the fourth round of this year’s US Open and will face Jannik Sinner next. It has not been an easy journey for Paul, but he has Paige Lorenze as his support system. What many might not know is that Lorenze understands the athletes better than most, because she used to train as a mountain skier herself.

“I’m very aware of what it takes to have that kind of skill and determination, especially as an individual athlete,” says Lorenze, who went to Burke Mountain Academy for ski race training. Life ultimately took her on a different path, but the social media influencer is still in touch with her sports lover side. And skiing is not the only one she is interested in.

That further connects her to Tommy Paul. Growing up on a farm, Paul has at least one thing in common with his girlfriend – they both love horses. Quite astonishingly, her love for horseriding was one reason to leave New York. Moving back to Connecticut had a major plus point for Lorenze, as she now “get(s) to ride my horse every day.”

Paul has even started teaching tennis to Lorenze, so who knows, we might even see a friendly match between the two someday. Or better yet, a mixed doubles match against some other famous tennis couple!
