Tennis is a game that is fancied by many people and players of other games. Many NFL and NBA players often spend their free time watching matches of tennis on the stadium. However, what wins all the adoration from fans of both the respective games is the off-field friendships. One such relationship full of fun, teasing, and understanding is between ATP World No.3 Alexander Zverev and NBA star Jimmy butler.

Adding to that, Jimmy sat down for a conversation with the anchor Prakash during the recent Miami Open and spoke about an interesting bet he has with Zverev.
Alexander Zverev and Butler’s Friendship
While speaking to the anchor, Butler spoke about how he was interested in tennis. And what’s his attitude towards any game is. He said, “Me, I think since everybody is playing since they are five or six, and I am just starting when I am like 31. I gotta long way to catch up, but that’s the competitive spirit in me. I can’t say that anybody can beat me at anything, so I think I am the best tennis player.”
When speaking of tennis, how could he possibly not involve his dear friend Alexander Zverev? Therefore, upon being asked for any player that he has thrashed on the courts of tennis, he jokingly said, “Zverev Actually.” And then addressed the bet he has with the German. “We had a bet. We still do have a bet going of would he have better of scoring on me one-on-one or me returning his serve,” he said.
Further, Butler and Zverev’s relationship runs deep. Butler once made his coach hold up a tablet so that he could watch a tennis star’s match while he practiced his shot on the basketball court prior to a clash.

Tennis and basketball calendar do not run parallel to each other. In fact, in tennis, there is hardly any break because of consecutive tournaments. Even so, Zverev and Butler have kept their bond intact. They often take out time off their busy schedules to hang out with each other.

Zverev in Clay
Alexander Zverev will be soon starting his first tournament of this year’s clay-court season. He has a similar win-to-lose ratio in all the court types. However, his performance in clay is slightly better than others. Though Zverev gave a subpar performance last year in the clay season. He played 14 matches in total, in which he came out victorious in only four.

With Monte Carlo open on the doorstep, the world no.3 will carry a lot of hopes on his shoulder. He will enter the tournament in the third round.
