Rafael Nadal is all set for the semifinals of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. However, the Australian wall of Nick Kyrgois stands tall between Nadal and his road to third Wimbledon. After thrashing the American tennis ace, Taylor Fritz, in the five-set long thriller in 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7 (10)-6 (4), Nadal avenged his Indian Wells finals defeat.

Now the 22 times Grand Slam champion will clash with the Australian Nick Kyrgios to reach a step closer to his third Wimbledon trophy.

Kyrgios, who will play his first Grand Slam semifinals, seemed excited about the upcoming match. And shared his feeling regarding the Spanish opponent.

Kyrgios assures of a nerve-wracking tussle against Rafael Nadal

The Aussie, after outclassing the current Chilean No. 1 player Cristian Garin in the quarterfinals, spoke about the highly anticipated face-off between him and Nadal. He?said,?“It will be pretty special to play Rafa here. We have had some absolute battles on that centre court. You know he has won one against me and I have won one against him. So, obviously, we know two completely different personalities and I feel like we respect the hell out of each other.”

Nadal’s other major concern

Apart from his recent injury, Nadal is dealing with an issue that has pestered him throughout his career. The former World No.1 suffers from Mueller-Weiss Syndrome, a rare degenerative foot disorder. The syndrome affects the bones of the mid-foot region and causes extreme pain in the mid-foot and hind foot region.
