In a recent revelation, On Running, a Swiss company backed by Roger Federer came ahead and shared their heartfelt thoughts after one of the finest athletes in the world Kelvin Kiptum died in a car accident. The rising star from Kenya, who was said to be the major contender for the gold medals in the Olympics this year suffered a tragic accident as his car crashed. Not only him but his coach, Gervais Hakizimana, who hailed from Rwanda also lost his life in the car accident.

Mourning over the loss, On Running took to their X (formerly Twitter) account to share a heartfelt note for the late star.  While extending their condolences, they paid tribute to them for shaping the future of running while suggesting that the upcoming generation will always take inspiration from them.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Kelvin Kiptum and his coach Gervais Hakizimana. The history of the sport has been shaped by their incredible dedication — and will continue to inspire generations to come. We want to extend our condolences to their families, friends, team-mates and those who admire them,” wrote On Running, a company backed by Roger Federer on X.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the devastating loss of Kelvin Kiptum and his coach, Gervais Hakizimana,” Coe wrote. “On behalf of all World Athletics we send our deepest condolences to their families, friends, teammates and the Kenyan nation.”

“It was only earlier this week in Chicago, the place where Kelvin set his extraordinary marathon World Record, that I was able to officially ratify his historic time. An incredible athlete leaving an incredible legacy, we will miss him dearly,” he further continued.
