It was quite a disappointing moment for fans as Rafael Nadal didn’t play at the ATP Cup 2021. The Spaniard was not completely fit and decided not to play at the tournament. Without Rafa, Spain definitely had a disadvantage in the tournament and they couldn’t qualify in the finals.

However, there is some great news for tennis fans. World No.2 Rafael Nadal seems completely fit and fine again and even looks prepared ahead of the Australian Open 2021. Rafa trained really hard today and practiced some backhand shots. He updated his fans by posting a video of his training session on Instagram.

“Backhand exercise intense,” wrote an ambitious Nadal on Instagram.

Nadal is definitely excited about the Grand Slam and will give his 100% in order to win the upcoming major. He hasn’t won the Australian Open title since 2009 and will surely try to end his drought this time.

Rafa even practiced with 17-year-old Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz who qualified for the Australian Open 2021 recently. For a young player like Alcaraz, it was definitely like a dream come true moment.

After the training session, the 17-year-old Alcaraz became quite cheerful. He posted a picture with Nadal on his Twitter handle and wrote a beautiful message praising the 20-time Grand Slam champion.

“Thank you very much Rafael Nadal for practice with me today at Australian Open. Very happy to have enjoyed this unique experience,” tweeted Alcaraz.

It was undoubtedly a moment to remember for the youngster as he got to train with the legend himself. It also reveals that Rafa is gaining momentum by working on his fitness and will surely not miss any game at the Australian Open 2021.

Nadal will face Laslo Dere in the first round of the Australian Open 2021 on February 9, 2021. He’ll surely want to win the title this time and begin his 2021 season on a high note. Will Rafa be able to get his 21st Grand Slam title in Melbourne this year?
