Carlos Alcaraz, the Spanish tennis professional, hit the headlines when he sneaked into the semifinals of the Indian Wells, becoming the youngest player to do so. However, he didn’t stop there and now has taken down Miami.
Carlos lifted the trophy at Miami open by outclassing Casper Ruud. Thereby becoming the 3rd youngest player to win an ATP 1000 masters title. Achievement of such large-scale calls for celebration.

Enrique Iglesias Joins Carlos Alcaraz in Celebrations

The 18-year-old expressed his happiness by dancing to the beats of Bailando. To which the singer of the song and fellow Spanish man dedicated a tweet. Enrique Iglesias shared a video of Carlos dancing on Twitter and captioned it, “The feeling when you win Masters 1000 at 18 years old,” and wrote Felicidades which is Spanish for Congratulations.

It was Carlos’ first meeting with Ruud. Although facing a new opponent in such a high-pressure match can affect a player’s game, he seemed calm and composed. The Spaniard did not faze and played his best tennis. Amidst the heat and slow traveling ball, Carlos made his way and took the match out of Casper’s hand in consecutive sets of 7-5, 6-4.

Alcaraz has had a great run this year in America. he is been riding high on his form since the start of the hard court season, and he proved himself in the Indian Wells as well. Carlos made a run up till semis of Indian wells. However, On his way, he thrashed some of the very experienced players such as Monfils and Norrie. Although Carlos couldn’t claim the titles, it took a legend to pull him out of the race.

Moving on to Miami, Carlos took victory against three of his opponents in straight sets, including the current world no.5. Further, he faced the defending champion Hubert Hurkacz in the semifinals of the Miami Open. Alcaraz outfoxed the latter in a nerve-wracking match by 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-2). Following that, he thrashed Rudd to mark the title under his name.
